Bertie 8 year old chestnut gelding for sale. Perfect lead rein pony and would make fantastic first-ridden in the right hands. Gentle, loves people and fantastic with children. Loves lots of fuss and grooming. I have had him for 2 years and he has never kicked or bitten. Great in traffic, good to catch, load and with farrier (he is unshod but has feet trimmed every 10 weeks). Up to date with vaccines and worming and passported. Lives out now but has been stabled in the past. Very reluctant sale as he is such a lovely character but my daughter has lost interest and he is wasted in the field. 11hh welsh section A pony club lead rein pony

Our beloved pony Barney is sadly up for sale after 7 great years. All my children have ridden him from being toddlers and he has been their first pony so this is such a sad sale. He enjoys being worked and will whinny when he sees you bringing tack so it's unfair on him to be left without a job. I am advertising him as a lead rein pony as this is what he prefers in a schooling situation as he can be nappy without his leader in the arena and he much prefers having mum or dad to walk beside or even run in front. He will hack out perfectly off the lead and goes off your voice. He has been ridden around hopton x country off the lead and on the farnley ride and Escrick park. He will jump small jumps and has got a good jump but it's not something he enjoys. He is just ridden now and then at the moment but he is exactly the same ride how ever long he is left. Barney has been involved with all pony club activities including mounted games, mini camp, mini cross country, lessons and jumping with my daughter from being age 5. He has competed on the mini mounted games for 2 seasons on the lead and did wetherby weekend this year off the lead in the junior team and did great. Totally unfazed with a busy environment and does not get silly or excitable, he's very happy to stand on the line and just wait his turn and knows the equipment. When at shows he just stands patiently and nods off. He will ride and lead and is responsive to voice commands which is great for teaching little ones to canter on the lead. A shout of whoa quickly brings him back to walk! We've stayed away at shows and he is happy to be corralled in an pen and will not stress if left on his own, he just enjoys being out and having a job to do. He can be a bit grumpy to handle and will pull the odd face. He will live out with a shelter or come in at night and he is happy with both. He is very clean in the stable and will poo in a bucket at the back! He can be left for weeks and then ridden and he is exactly the same, just steady away. Beautiful 12 years old 11hh Welsh Sec A grey mare. We have owned Suzie for 7 years - both my daughters have learnt to ride on her. She has attended many local and County shows and always came home with rosettes. She is excellent in traffic, hacks out alone or in company, lives in or out. She is good with the farrier loads and travels perfectly. She has always been handled by children and has never bucked, kicked or reared. She has mostly been used as a lead rein pony by us and has occasionally been ridden off the lead by my young daughter with no difficulties. Poppy has a great temperament and has spent the summer with us hacking out with our other pony and on her own, teaching a friend's little boy to ride. She also went to a local show and won the gymkhana points cup. She is only for sale as we have now lost her little rider and she is just out in the field doing nothing. She was in her previous home for seven years and won cups in lead rein showing and gymkhana. She can also pop a jump. 11hh lead rein pony club pony

Poppy is an 11hh unregistered Welsh sec A 12 years old. Poppy is a fantastic all round pony club lead rein pony. She loves a fuss and is extremely loveable. My 5yr old picks her feet out and can bath her. She has taken part in all PC activities and brought home plenty of rosettes. She loves her jumping and doesn't bat an eye at any fillers. She has taken part in games practices and not phased by any of the equipment. Poppy never grabs down for grass and hacks out alone or in company and is not spooky. She isn't bothered by traffic and is used to farm traffic and animals. She will happily walk through streams and water. Poppy will live in or out with mares or geldings. She is up to date with vaccinations, teeth and worming and is fine with the vet but does need sedation for teeth. She will stand for the farrier (unshod) is fine to clip but I haven't ever pulled her mane so not sure about that!!! Poppy had one mild bout of laminitis this year but no veterinary attention was needed (pulses raised but no lameness) She will load no problem in a trailer or wagon and happily stand all day. Poppy does go off lead but is being sold as a lead rein pony as she has bolted with my daughter. She is a forward going pony when in full work and although she has been excellent most of the time she has bolted twice now in the 10 months we have had her. She may be fine with a stronger rider but my daughter is off lead rein and I now need one I can trust not to be strong or bolt off lead rein. Dexter: Welsh Mountain Pony

Dexter has been classed as a bomb-proof pony and is perfect for a first time pony or beginners. He has an excellent temperament and is patient around children and has been used to teach youngsters how to ride. Dexter is also considerate of other animals, especially dogs as he has been surrounded by them for many years. He would also be a great companion pony. I used to compete on Dexter showjumping, but in recent years I have either schooled him or gone on hacks. He is also excellent with the farrier.
