Such a heart breaking decision but my beautiful Irish Thoroughbred is up for sale. I currently can now no longer ride as I am waiting for a back operation and will be unable to walk for months, so this is the best choice for my boy. Xander has come such a long way coming from a bad previous home. He has been ridden by a novice but I want him to go too a home with experience. He needs a lot more schooling and hacking out (walk trot) to build his muscle up as he was very under nourished. He is currently coming back into work being lunged and ridden slowly after having a rest. He is a very lazy ride but slight squeeze and he will listen, so no leg kickers!! I am only wanting him to go too a 10* home as he is a very loved boy, so experienced people only please. He needs to go to someone with a kind hand, I am very gentle with Xander and that's the sort of home I want him to go too. I am in no rush to sell him as I only want serious and honest people for my boy! Excellent with the farrier (fully shod) Amazing with the dentist Comes to call at his field He is used to chickens,geese and sheep. Harley is a great pony from the ground and fabulous around children, young and old, allowing even the youngest to handle him. He will stand all day to be groomed and petted. He has never put a foot wrong on the lead rein but when off of this he has at times a habit of napping unpredictably when ridden out hacking or in the school. For this reason he is unsuitable for young riders off of the lead rein or inexperienced older riders. He has a superb jump, never refusing but can nap at times, especially when competing. Beautiful Happy Hacker. I'm offering this handsome boy for sale to happy hacking home only. Sadly he is not 100% sound on a circle and despite extensive investigations with a Newmarket Vet practice we have been unable to establish the cause and hence cure. He enjoys hacking and shows no sign of pain in this environment having completed the Burghley long distance ride recently with no ill effects afterwards. He has hunted once with the Easton Harriers and was impeccably behaved despite it being his first time out. He is a lovely hack and my 13 year old daughter hacks him out alone and in company. He is not a ploddy kick a long type he has a nice active walk and is responsive off the aids. He has loads of personality and loves people and life. Good to catch, farrier, clip, loads and travels in lorry or trailer. Safe enough to use as lead rein. We are in a rural area so don't see much traffic, he can be genuinely shy with large lorries and tractors but never difficult at worst will move up on pavement or have a little wobble has never spun, bolted, reared etc but for this reason would not class him as fit for nervous or complete novice. I have come to the hard decision to sell my best friend. Harley is 11 year old, 16.1hh chestnut thoroughbred gelding. We have owned him for the past 5 years where he was brought as a project. He is a fast learner and has been to a couple of local shows both show jumping and cross country. However due to myself going back into education he has only been hacked for the past year. He hacks both in company and on his own. Prefers to take the lead when in company. Harley is good with the farrier, dentist, no stable vices. Snaffle mouth. Gets on with both mares and geldings. Up to date with vaccinations, worming, teeth and feet. Lives in or out and is a good doer considering he is a thoroughbred. Harley has lovely sable manners and is very affectionate, would stand for hours being cuddled, groomed and pampered. He equally can be turned out for days and would still love you. Harley is a dream to own, easy to look after and will fit around your lifestyle. Harley does not have a nasty bone in his body he is very forgiving. Harley is not a novice ride, he needs to be sold to an experienced rider who has preferably dealt with thoroughbreds before. He is not a horse you can bully and needs a quiet confident rider. Harley is visually confident but is sensitive to sound. For example when hacking if he sees a tractor, bus etc he is fine. However is he hears something behind him and cannot see it he tends to panic. By panic he does not rear or buck but shoot forward. This is rare but need him to go to the right home to get the best out of him. 5* home is a must for this much loved boy. Harley will be sold from the field due to me being at university for the past 4 months and not having the time he deserves. No timewasters please this is a heart breaking sale as it is. Sad sale of this lovely boy, through absolutely no fault of. His own, he is 11 years old liver chestnut, has impeccable manners in or out of the stable, with farrier, loading, travelling, and falls asleep whilst being clipped!! He loves show jumping, cross country and drag hunting has the best brakes, loves being ridden out and having his own human to love. There is nothing bad about this lovely boy, he doesn't like having his mane pulled but only pulls a face!, he is easy to ride, but as a thoroughbred I wouldn't place him as a novice ride, he's recently been ridden and competed on by a 14 year old. Will sell him with all his rugs (every type you can think of lol) and with his tack. He is currently stabled in the winter and out spring and summer.
