I have for sale a beautiful, handmade, silk on silk, Iranian, Persian, Qum, Ghum, Ghom rug. The rug is 137cms x 82cms, including fringes. It is 'signed' at one end. The detail is very fine. There are an enormous number of handmade knots per square inch. The rug is constructed of 100% silk, weave and pile, hence the phrase silk on silk. The pile is cut as short as velvet. This is an indication of the very high quality. The main colours are black, gold, beige, blue and pink. The rug is in perfect condition; no wear at all. It looks new. Even the fringes are perfect as the rug has never been on the floor, just hung on the wall. It is a really beautiful, hand made, rug. The rug was bought from Penman's Antique Fair, Chester Racecourse, approximately 10 to 15 years ago. This is an expertly vetted antiques selling event so I am perfectly confident that this rug is a Qum. £ was originally paid for this rug. This rug was new when bought.
